Grand Velas Riveria Maya

I’m debating booking a five night stay at GVRM in March for my family of four (two and five year old children). We would be booking the base room in the Zen section. I’ve been reading a lot of positive reviews, but I’m skeptical.

For reference-Last year my husband and I went to Como parrot cay as a couple, the Boca resort and a private villa in Crete (with private staff) with the kids. These are typical of the properties we stay at.

I’m looking for a more budget option this trip, and I really like the idea of all inclusive with the kids. The only other AI hotel I’ve been to is Beloved Playa Mujeres. I thought it was mediocre at best and would never go back.

Does anyone have a feedback on this resort? Pros? Cons? Is the vibe at GVRM similar to Beloved (but with kids)?

If I’m going to shell out over 7K for five nights I dont want to be disappointed and feel like i wasted money.
