Re asking for letters of Rec

Hi everyone, need a little advice.

I was going to apply to med school this last cycle but my mcat score was lower then I wanted so I postponed applying to this coming cycle. I want the same letter writers that had already written letters for me last cycle, do yall have any advice for how I should go about asking them if they can submit it again and perhaps change the date. I was thinking about explaining my situation and then asking if they could rewrite or resubmit my letters for this year with an updates date. Has anyone had to do this, would appreciate any help because I think I am kinda overthinking this!
