The neighbors cat was in our ceiling for two weeks!

The upstairs neighbor was remodeling his bathroom when his cat went missing. Later in the day he comes to my (retail) store and asks if I had seen his cat who’s missing, then he asks if he can check our backyard. (He did not tell me that he had been remodeling his bathroom at the time of his cats disappearance.. looking back, OBVIOUSLY the cat could have hidden behind a wall/under the floor)

After a week goes by, he comes by again and asks to check. No sign of his cat. Another week goes by and I hear a soft, sad meow. I immediately called him. We watch the camera footage and he starts crying, it’s his cats meow! That cat didn’t make a peep for TWO WEEKS! I told him it sounded like the cat was in the ceiling and then he confessed that he had just put in a new bathtub.

We spent 2 late nights breaking holes in the ceiling and trying to lure his cat out with wet food to no avail. By the 2nd night, he (finally) opened the floor in his bathroom and got his poor cat out. We have no idea how his cat survived. I believe his cats name was Jack. Jack was taken to the vet and miraculously was fine. He offered to pay for the ceiling damage and ended up giving us $200.

This awesome neighbor showed me his appreciation by calling the cops on us several times for loud music. The music was never loud. Cops were upset with him. Fuck you John!
