Those of you with tattoos: how often do you get a new one and how do you decide on the next one- is it based on some meaning, life events or just whims?

42m. Didn’t get my first one until 2019 and recently got another. Both on my left arm and both large pieces that will become a coherent sleeve eventually.

For me, I usually have an idea for a while — often for more than a year before I’ll have it done. Both of mine have significant deep meaning based on life events.

Definitely won’t wait years in between now; looking to finish my sleeve in the next year or so.
