The opening themes tend to be pretty accurate to character dynamics throughout the season, but I've noticed that early out competitors tend not to be doing much in their portion of the theme song. I think of Miriam just spying people from behind a bush in All-Stars or James and Lake just sorta being at the camp entrance. The early or first out competitors tend to just be idling in the intro sequence, or reacting to others doing something rather than really establishing their own dynamics.

On top of that, what can ONC do with our boy Tom? He's happily married, been basically a co-protagonist of the entire franchise, went pretty far on season 1, had a substantial storyline on All-Stars and went through a lot of story material and character growth on TomJake 1 and 2. If there are places for him to go or dynamics for him to explore, they're most likely going to be with his family or Lucia, i.e. people who are not on the show. I love Tom, I truly do, and I love his friendship with Gabby + his greater friend alliance, but even keeping that intact puts a major target on their back. Tom, Aiden, Gabby and Lake have already done an All-Stars and Tom is probably the strongest out of all of them at challenges, so if I were on the Favorites team I'd be gunning for their alliance, Tom in particular.

There's just so many angles for why Tom may not be long for the competition and I feel like him not really having anything to do in the opening kinda solidifies that. But who knows, I could be wrong. I'm just posting this here for posterity's sake.

I don't like predicting what'll happen before the season is even out yet...but with the theme song out now, I have a quick thought re: Tom...:
