Why INAIRSPACE Uses P2P (Peer-to-Peer) as the Core Technology
INAIRSPACE uses P2P to give you the lowest latency and best visual quality, but some overseas networks restrict P2P, so we’re improving compatibility and will offer fallback solutions for those regions.
To deliver the lowest latency and the smoothest remote streaming experience, INAIRSPACE is designed around P2P direct transmission.
This approach allows your devices to connect directly rather than routing data through a cloud server, which brings several key benefits:
- Ultra-low latency — closest to a local experience
Perfect for:
- Remote control
- High-frame-rate video
- Any real-time interactive app
- Better bandwidth efficiency
Direct device-to-device connections often achieve higher image quality and more consistent frame rates.
- Higher privacy
- Your data does not pass through third-party servers.
- Only your devices exchange the encrypted stream.
Why Remote Streaming May Fail in Some Regions
While P2P gives the best performance, it also depends heavily on local network conditions.
In some countries or ISPs, P2P connections may be restricted or blocked, which makes device-to-device connection fail.
Here are the common factors:
- Different ISP policies overseas
Some regions/ISPs:
- Block end-to-end connections
- Use strict NAT or firewall rules
- Limit or filter P2P traffic
This prevents the Pod and your PC/phone from connecting directly.
- Company / school networks often block P2P
Enterprise and campus networks usually:
- Disable UPnP
- Use symmetric NAT (very hard for P2P to penetrate)
- Filter P2P packets entirely
Result: connection attempts may fail.
- Complex home network setups
Double routers, Wi-Fi hotspots, weak networks, etc., can also reduce success rates.
Because of these factors, P2P success rates vary significantly by country and operator, especially outside China.
P2P vs. Server Relay — A Quick Comparison
P2P Direct Connection (INAIRSPACE Default)
- Pros
✔ Lowest latency
✔ Best image quality & stability
✔ More private (no third-party relay)
- Cons
✘ Dependent on ISP/NAT conditions
✘ Overseas success rates vary
Server Relay (Traditional Solution)
- Pros
✔ Very stable
✔ Works even in strict networks
- Cons
✘ Higher latency (especially cross-country)
✘ High server cost & bandwidth
✘ Stream passes through third-party servers
Our Direction: Balancing Latency and Stability
P2P remains our core strategy because it delivers the best possible AR remote-streaming experience.
However, we are also:
- Continuously improving NAT traversal efficiency
- Testing solutions for regions with strict ISP policies
- Evaluating a fallback relay mode for users whose networks cannot support P2P
Our goal is simple:
“Best performance when possible, stable connectivity when needed.”
