Where is the best place in Los Angeles to buy a fancy chef’s knife (gift)?

Can anyone help me (generic question to satisfy the rules)? I’d like to get a gift for someone who is an avid cook and baker, and I’m thinking a nice chef’s knife. They’re leaving the country, so it can’t be something massive and inconvenient for them to take, like a stand mixer or something. I am open to other ideas, like something more unique/specific in the cooking/baking world. I’m sure they have a chefs knife, but I’m hoping the one I get is nicer.

Willing to spend up to $300. I plan to buy it here, pack and ship it to them on the east coast, with some other small items, before they leave the country. Thanks in advance.
