Locked out of MacBook

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I got my my MacBook Air maybe 3 weeks ago and stupidly, I only used my fingerprint to log in instead of my password and now I’ve forgotten it. I was wondering if anyone knew how I can reset my password myself? I’ve tried all the tricks I’ve seen online and it wants a recovery key which I don’t have. Should I take it in somewhere? Please help!!!
