Lewis Changes His Mind

Why did Lewis change his mind about selling Lingermore? When Evelyn died and Lingermore and it's contents were put up for sale, it seemed like Lewis and Max weren't even in Port Haven. Evelyn's lawyer gave Kat the artifacts and documents that Evelyn had left for the archive at the Port Haven Herald. And the sale of the contents seemed to be handled by estate lawyers. No Goodwins were seen anywhere. KC was the only Goodwin in town who was available to donate Evelyn's check to the town at Founder's Day.

So what changed? What brought Lewis and Mac to Port Haven? Lewis not only stopped the sale but also decided to open a winery, a business that he had little or no experience with. He also tried to buy the Landry farm land.

The changes that we know about are:

  1. Sam arrived in Port Haven.
  2. KC arrived in Port Haven. 3.Calvin Prentice is up for parole.

Jacob hadn't arrived yet so unless Lewis had future knowledge, this wasn't his reason to stop the sale. I think that KC is Jacob's child and their arrival and possibly Sam's as has to do with Jacob.

This was the timeline of events:

Lingermore is for sale and there is an Estate Sale at Lingermore. Kat buys the My Katherine Painting and Cyrus's pistol. Del buys the Founding of Port Havenbook of Evelyn's that is the same edition as Colton's.

Sam arrives in PH and buys the farm next door that isn't for sale. He initially refuses to honor the Landry farmland lease that should transfer with the purchase. Sam later offers to honor the lease until Del can make "other arrangements" but Del refuses what she thinks is charity. This loss of income cause Del to agree to sell the farmland to Lewis.

KC arrives in town, begins working for Kat at the archives and starts documenting and organizing Evelyn's donation. At the same time, KC determines that the pond sent her to that time to learn about her families so she takes that opportunity to research them.

With the loss of the leased land income Del, with Elliot's help, creates a proposal for the town for a co op to lease part of Del's farmland. The offer is turned down by the town council.

Sam tells Del that he read the proposal and was inspired. He offers to finance the project himself. Del turns down this offer also.

Lewis makes what Del calls a generous offer for the Landry farmland. Del has no other choice and ends up agreeing and signs the Deal.

Sam - Did Lewis change his mind about the sale of Lingermore because of information that he got from Sam? We don't see any clues that Sam is working with Lewis. At the book signing, we saw Sam stand up for Jacob and not Lewis.

Sam could have come to PH and inserted himself in the Landry's lives for financial gain. He could be planning on using the Landry's to time travel. He did seem interested in the coins.

One suspicious thing that KC said was that they hadn't shown Sussanah's Will to Sam but they had asked Sam if a document that old could still be legal.

Is Sam in town because he is Colton's brother? I don't think so. Why would Colton's brother hide his identity? It seems like Colton's brother left PH because he didn't want to stay and take care of the farm.

Sam seems to be wealthy and he doesn't seem to want the farm. I think he is Jacob's father in law and is in PH to help Jacob and his daughter and grandchild, KC. He sounds very earnest and caring when he assures Del that Jacob will be okay when he is on the phone with her when Jacob jumps into the pond. He is also helping Del with the Prentice situation. Are those 2 situations related?

KC KC squatted at Lingermore and stayed in the attic room that Cyrus used to hide Sussanah in during the year with no summer. Could KC have found other Sussanah treasures, spell books, incantations, amulets in that room that allowed TT? Or could KC already have knowledge about properties at Lingermore that would allow Tt? Could they have told Lewis about this and so he decided to stay?

Did Lewis catch KC disappearing and reappearing through the pond and somehow figure it out? And then when Jacob said that he knew Sussanah's book was true because he had lived it, Lewis figured out that Jacob could also travel.

Evelyn found the My Katherine painting Sussanah had hidden in that room and instantly recognized Katherine as the fairy/white witch that had saved her from drowning in the pond in 65. The white witch murals in Lingermore could have been painted by Evelyn. What else did Evelyn find? Could Evelyn have left documents in the attic that KC found and told Lewis about?

Cyrus

In that same attic room, teen Colton, Evie and Alice used a OUIJI board and contacted a ghost. That ghost seemed to be Cyrus. The ghost spelled out fire, too fast and then blamed Colton for the fire. Could the ghost of Cyrus be communicating with Lewis? Jacob sees an "Echo" of Cyrus when he arrives at Lingermore and we see that Lewis has hung Cyrus's portrait back up in it's place of province above the fireplace.

Lewis and Evelyn

This is what I think may have happened. I have always thought that some type of TT is also possible through the Goodwin pool. Just look at the pool. Who has a pool surround with pool lounge chairs and a pool deck but is filled with murky water and lily pads. It looks like a lake. And in the middle, there is a fountain of the 3 Moon Maidens. There is also a statue of a little boy with pond fronds wrapped around his foot.

Not finished with the too long post but my toddler keeps trying to push my keys so I am posting now before he deletes all my typing - again...
