Rereading book 4 and this time around…

I feel so bad for the Tomb Raider guys. They were put in an impossible situation from the start. Stuck in a necropolis full of horrific traps and almost no way to disarm or even tell they were there (except that one guy), then the necropolis floods and they are stuck, they can’t get their quadrant maps because they were out of reach and destroyed, they all get possessed by ghosts and then Carl sends them all to their deaths (knowingly).

I wonder if they were even able to take their castle alone? Seems almost impossible. I felt so bad for those guys.

Also, another book 4 question - Chris tells Carl that Maggie is getting outside help from a caprid. Do we ever find out who that was and why? I honestly can’t remember. I’ve read all 7 books but I don’t remember every bit of them
