Feasibility: self-leveling concrete next to plywood subfloor buildup

I’m preparing a bedroom floor (10×15 ft) for new flooring.

My plan:

· A 4 ft wide × 15 ft long strip will be built up with two layers of ½" plywood (total 1" height).

· The remaining 6 ft wide × 15 ft long section will be leveled with self-leveling concrete, tapering from 1" thick (adjacent to the plywood) down to 0" thick on the far side.

Question:

  1. Is this a reliable method, or will the 1" thick feathered edge of self-leveler next to the plywood cause problems (cracking, separation, etc.)?

  2. Should I use a primer/bonding agent over the entire slab before pouring the self-leveler?

  3. How do I best manage the transition line between the two materials to avoid height mismatch or movement?

Looking for advice from those who’ve tried something similar. Thanks!

You can see the two plywood stacked together, at the right two others will be fixed. Don't mind the little ones.
