WCF for LIS–IDS7 Desktop Synchronization

In our planned infrastructure, the LIS backend will run on a Linux server with a PostgreSQL database, and the frontend will be a Windows server/client using WCF for LIS–IDS7 Desktop Synchronization. Is this configuration supported, and are there any technical issues or limitations we should be aware of for desktop synchronization?
