Issue with passenger reading light randomly turning on?

Has anyone come across the passenger seat reading light randomly turning on in their iX? It only started happening a few months ago. The dealer couldn’t figure it out and ultimately concluded that it is being motion activated by waiving your hand around and “operating as designed.” This doesn’t seem likely to be an intentional design as it just started happening. Any thoughts??
