Removing IUD 1 week after insertion
Coming on here to share my story and revive the message that all bc decisions are yours and they are valid!
Anyway, I decided to try Kyleena and had the insertion last week. Insert pain was strong but bearable. However, I have been having consistent sharp pain and pressure on the left side of my abdomen since insertion. It happens especially when I’m standing or walking. I have passed a few decidual casts in my life and the pain feels much like that.
These symptoms make me nervous to move around too much or engage in physical activity because I worry about inducing pain or embedding the iud in my uterus (which, after substantial reading, turns out to be far more common [10-20%] than full perforation [<1%]).
The combined stress and pain has been weighing on my mind, culminating in an overwhelming feeling of GET IT OUT OF ME NOW! So, we are getting it out of me tomorrow, less than 1 week post insertion 🫶 remember ladies, it’s not about “sticking it out” it’s about taking care of your body and health.
