I'm completely new to Synths and I want to start making music where should I start?

I've done a bit of research and a lot of it is confusing to me. I've seen a lot of answers as to what I should get as a beginner but a lot of the information seems be a little older and I don't know if it's still good.

I really like the risk of rain 2 music by Chris Christodoulou and I'd love to get to a point some day where I can imitate his emotion in his work. But I have no idea where to start and I have no idea where to grow.

Online I saw that the Nektar Impact LX49+ is a good starter with some headphones but I don't know if it's true. Ideally I just want to get started in the hobby and figure out where I can go with it so my budget would be around 500 dollars for some basic stuffs.
