BL recommendations and ratings!

Here’s a list of what I’ve read recently and what I think! Take my opinions with a grain of salt, I’m not a writer.

1: Blooming season (ongoing). This one is cool. A solid 6/10 so far as it’s ongoing. It’s got that classic frenemies feel. It’s slow enough to enjoy the characters relationships growing. It’s kinda Sci-fi and it’s very PG as of rn. There was an old one but I like the direction this new one is going. I definitely recommend.

2: Not so Silent (ongoing). 10/10 love this webtoon. There are characters you hate and characters you love and complicated characters. Perfect mix of highschool romance and real family trauma issues. Read this! You will not be disappointed. I used coins on this already I couldn’t wait.

3: play pretend (newly off hiatus). I don’t really know what to rate this one so I won’t. It’s cute and the story has a nice concept but for me it’s a bit sexual. If you like that then go for it but I feel like they skip over a lot of important development. It’s good for someone who enjoys the spice and drama! I am enjoying this so far

4: Superfish (ongoing). Cute! 8/10 I am Liking it. It’s been a bit slow for how many episodes there are but it’s new and I’m really excited to see where it’s going. I have a feeling this may become a favorite for me in the future.

5: Cuffing Cupid (ongoing). I love the Cupid dude. And I love the character writing I’m really invested. I think I’ll give this one a 9/10. The story is so compelling, I do wish it would hurry up and release the whole thing BUT that’s what makes it so good I guess, I just can’t wait for more.

6: type-blind (ongoing). Ah ok so 5/10. I don’t wanna be mean but I feel like I’ve seen this one 1000 times. But that doesn’t mean I’m not enjoying it. It’s something I read when I’m waiting for my others to update, but still I think it’s worth a read and I wanna see where it’s going. Who knows maybe I’ll change my rating in the future.

7: you’re my nicotine (ongoing). 7/10. I love this one but let’s start with negatives. VERY slow. The characters go in their own direction and have relationships with other people, the relationship between the main character and love interest have barely been a focus or have progressed. I rated it so well because the story is compelling and there’s lots of history with the characters and drama and trauma. It’s very good I really like this one.

8: My girlfriend is the man (ongoing). Ah yeah idk abt this one. I’ve been keeping up with it but I’m really not sure if I’m following, one of the classic gender switch ones but idk if I like it. I thought I’d put it on here for anyone looking for a webtoon like this. If you like those anime’s with the swapped body or gender troupe you’ll love this it’s cute. But I’ll have to give it a 4/10 so far, I like the characters tho.

9: Love Bites (ongoing). I’m a sucker for the fantasy ones. 10/10 I love this one omg. Cringey but cute and complex character relationships. I 100% recommend.

10: star catcher (ongoing). 6/10. I wanna rate this one higher given how much I look forward to the episodes but there’s something important it lacked in the past. That big moment where everything builds and the characters confess their feelings. It was lacking. There was not that good build or chemistry between the characters yet, it felt a little forced and not too romantic. But I can see how it’s growing and I really like it. Don’t take what I said the wrong way, but that part is important for me and I felt it fell through a little. The story is going in a good direction pls check this one out. It’s so bingeable.

11: all sizzle (ongoing). 2/10. No. Sorry I don’t like this one. Pure sexuality. They can’t keep it in their pants for 5 minutes. I find it toxic and I dropped this but if That is what you like in a webtoon go read it! 2 points for some good story writing in there when they aren’t banging. LOL

12: The egg project (ongoing). I really like this one. 8/10. The constant fighting between the guys gets really really annoying but it’s cute and I am SO SO excited to read more of this. I’m positive when this one is done I’ll be banging my head against the wall waiting for a revival. Check this one out I love it.

13: Osora (ongoing). 8/10. When I was more into the spicy ones I liked this one. It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to read it cuz I didnt want to use coins. The time it takes for episodes to become free can be longer than a month. Other than that I loved binging this in one day LOL.

14: The Prince of Southland. (Ongoing). 10/10 omg I want more. I wait for it to update all the time. It’s perfect. A sci-fi BL focused on healing trauma and characters that don’t conform to that world’s societal norms. There can be the occasional typo in this one but seriously it’s not bad at all. I was able to take my time with this. The plot builds just right and I really love this story. Please check this one out.

15: A shoulder to cry on (completed). I don’t like this one I’ll put it straight, 2/10 sorry. The art is pretty but it was very slow. I could not handle it. And I didn’t fall in love with these characters like the other ones. It’s not terrible just not my fav. I am getting sick of the school based ones idk. Again take these reviews with a grain of salt.

16: To The Stars And Back. (Completed). Omg I wish there was more. 10/10. Idek what to say, I miss this webtoon. You do have to watch adds for every episode but don’t do that, just use the 200 coins if you can, it’s worth it, I’ve been trying to search to see if there’s any plans for a physical copy because I love this one. Peak BL.
