The documentary confused me even more on what they were doing with Finn and Noah
From the documentary its clear that they are focused on the overall look of the actors. The angles and just their facial expressions and body language. It kinda seems like the only thing the Duffer brothers are passionate about. So what is insanely confusing is that if they are so focused on that, how come so many Byler scenes are so intimate? If they can tell Finn to not strocke Will’s book for so long, then they can tell Finn to stop looking at Noah that way. They can tell him not to touch him as much or even to act more intamite with Eleven’s character. I find it hard to believe that these men would also queerbait, I don’t think they would even understand how to do it since they don’t understand any of their queer characters. I don’t believe that they can write a scene intended to look like two boys are in love with each other. Im not sure if I believe that someone else wrote the entire show. I think a lot of scenes they didn’t write but then I feel like they would be the type to remove scenes like when Mike talks to Will in his bedroom. I don’t think they would find any importance in that. But at the same time they seem to have written past seasons and kept in those scenes like in season 2 with miwi getting a lot of those scenes. So honestly im confused. The documentary honestly just showed that they had the passion (in the past) but just lacked clear focus in the end. So im very confused what that means for Byler and wether they were queerbaiting or even what the hell they were doing in general. They seem burnt out in the end and like they didn’t set enough time to end the show well but still enjoy the world of stranger things and making it. So how much focus did they have on Byler? Was it them? Was it a ghost writer? I think they wrote the show but how much of it? Why leave certain scenes in if they didn’t lead to a clear ending or if they don’t even understand queer characters? It seems like there is a disconnect somewhere and im just confused. The certain signs of Mike being gay is 100% all production choices, as well as lighting and costume, but the acting choices I don’t understand how the Duffer brothers would let that slide if they seem to not care about queer characters or understand them enough to be able to queerbait. I cannot even imagine these men planning out Byler because they just don’t understand queer people so its just like huh. But they clearly wrote the show and had a passion for it at one point.
