(update)very late mid life crisis car
about six months ago I posted about getting a project/late mid life car. Well this is Silke She is a 1994 Porsche 968. I wanted a 944, but after lots of research and searching I decided on the 968. the car needed a lot of work as it had been a garage queen for 15 years, so it looked amazing but hadn't had any maintenance to speak of in all those years. I have spent the last six months or so working on and driving the hell out of her. I'm having a blast. I just wanted to thank everyone for their input.
not sure if anyone want to know specifics but here ya go, just in case.
I bought the car for $10,000 and have put about $7,000 into it. I have replace timing belt, balance belt, all pulleys and idlers, water pump, alternator, fuel pump, starter, most water lines, some fuel lines, new brake pads and a brake flush, new power steering hoses and reservoir and flushed the system, new battery, new front struts (koni adjustable), rear shocks, new tires, new stereo system (looks vintage to match the car) new plugs, air filter. and probably of few other things that I don't remember. I did almost all of the work myself with the exception of the stereo. plus I've had to buy a few new tools (ya!)
I still need to do more deferred maintenance stuff, but I have rediscovered how much I enjoy working on an old car so I really don't mind doing the work.
