Help! Teacher that can’t afford to be emotional

I made it a week without smoking or using any nicotine products but as a teacher I found myself frequently on the verge of crying or being super angry with my students. I am normally very patient and felt that the emotional rollercoaster from quitting was completely unfair to the kids so I broke down and bought a vape. My emotions have levelled out somewhat but I see myself replacing my cigarette addiction with vaping. I want to quit fully but I’m not sure I can risk being so emotionally unstable. Would patches and gum work better? Should I just wait until summer holidays to avoid this uncomfortable part of quitting?
