I built a Notion template to learn Hanzi using the "LEGO Method" (Component Logic). Is this actually helpful, or am I overcomplicating it?

Discussion

Hi everyone,

I've noticed that many learners struggle with rote memorization of characters. It looks painful.

As a native speaker and a data nerd, I see characters as combinations of logical parts—like LEGO bricks. So, I built a Notion Template to visualize this structure.

  • How it works: Instead of just writing the character, I break it down:
  • The Character: 伙 (Partner)
  • The "LEGO" Blocks: 🧍 Person (亻) + 🔥 Fire (火)
  • The Story: People eating around the same fire are partners.
  • Status: [Notion property for Spaced Repetition]

I'm trying to figure out if this logical/database approach is something you guys would actually use.

Does this look useful to you? Or is it too much setup? I'd love your honest feedback before I build more into it.
