Disappointed by trivial design choices

PACE PRO 🎽

Hi all, I'm new to the Coros world with a fresh Pace Pro. Coming from the Garmin world with an old 245 that served me very well, I was excited by stepping into an up to date sport watch.

Obviously I account for the adaptation time and learning curve of a different brand, but a few things still confuse me. Maybe I haven't found a solution yet, so please enlighten me where possible.

  1. The notification system - the old 245 allowed me to receive relevant notifications from my Pixel 8, and to interact with them with the same options of the phone. The Pro doesn't. I receive way more notifications than I need on my watch, often duplicates (to the point that I had to exclude Google News because of the sheer number), and I can only delete them. No quick answer to messages, no "Mark as read", nothing. I read on the Coros website that it helps battery consumption but I'd rather charge it more often than giving up such an important feature.

  2. Options for the watch faces - I love the design, the bright colors and the variety, but there's zero customization possible for any design. Since I live run in Canada, the temperature is something I really need to check at a glance, but there's no option to show it on a watch face. Same for total distance. I'd like to have my weekly volume always visible, but instead we get total time in hours. Ok, but who counts volume in hours?

  3. The is a minor, but the VO2max is usually a standard parameter to evaluate the current fitness. It's kinda buried in the UI and not quick to check. Instead we get the Fitness Score, which is proprietary data and not really common in the running world.

I'll keep exploring and learning in the next weeks, but these so far are the bad surprises I found. Maybe when the track season starts I'll be able to report something new, hoping that the Coros team will listen! πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ˜„
