Screwed myself on return?

I bought a gaming laptop but its burning the screen after I idle in games for more than 2-3 mins. I can send it back for refund they said but thats not the problem.

It says they need all the packaging, which I have the box manul ect. and all the packing cardboard inserts but Im missing the plastic the laptop came wrapped in, Im pretty sure I threw it out. Am I screwed? I think they are pretty strict when it comes to this?
