Bleeding + adjusting progesterone

I went through menopause at 34 for no known reason. Started HRT. Am now 48 and in November had a steroid shot in my hamstring. About three weeks later i suddenly started bleeding for the first time in 13+ years (which apparently sometimes happens with steroid shots). Doctor does ultrasound and endometrial biopsy and only finding is proliferative endometrium (which she says is appropriate for someone on HRT). Bleeding stops and then restarts about 1.5 weeks later. The bleeding has now happened 4 times, around 1.5 weeks each instance and each time the quantity and length of time are less. After 3rd time, the doctor recommended increasing the progesterone from 100 to 200.

My question is how long does that normally take to kick in? Doctor said that if it persists they would do a DNC and place IUD but I’d prefer to see if the progesterone works first just not sure how long of a time I should give it. What’s been your experience?
