Need a small loan to buy apartment, currently out of work

I need about 50k loan to buy a small 1 bedroom unit or apartment in Melbourne worth roughly 350 grand. Im dealing with some health issues, im currently unemployed. Is there any way I could get a loan under my circumstances. I have some family (retired) who want to help me. Could I get a loan based on existing assets not income? Thanks for your help.
