Advice on what to do next?
Hi all,
I'm overweight and have diabetes and have been on Mounjaro for about 8 months. The lower doses didn't do much for me, but when I got up to the higher doses, the weight started to come off. I lost about 30lbs in 4-5 months. Better yet, my A1C got down to 5.9 and then I had it checked again about a week ago and it was 5.1. My doctor was thrilled and so was I. Then came the news that my insurance completely dropped Mounjaro coverage for me because my A1C was under 7.
I'm terrified of gaining the weight back. I've been dieting my whole life, losing a little here and there then of course, gaining it back. I'm at 174 now and I haven't been this weight since high school. The biggest issue with me is the need to graze throughout the day on junk. With Mounjaro, that food noise was gone for the first time in my life.
So, my question for everyone is... what else has worked for you besides the expensive stuff that's out there? Are compounded semaglutides safe and how much are you paying for them per month? Do they work as well as the name brand stuff? Also, anyone have any luck with prescription appetite suppressants?
