My Sanyo FW50D36FB is in the wrong aspect ratio for my Xbox. Should I buy the original remote?

Yes, there’s buttons on the bottom. I can open Picture settings, and that gives me options for: Color alignment Noise reduction Ambient light sensor Black stretch Dynamic contrast Gamma Film mode BMR 120

None of those change the size of the tv. I’ve put up with this since 2017, but I want to read the text at the edge of my screen. Will the original remote do anything or am I just cooked?
