Per Se Salon Wine Recommendations?

Feel silly even asking this (sorta one of those "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" situations), but...

Going to Per Se Salon for the first time in 4 days as part of a NYC birthday trip. It'll be the closest I've been to a 3-star experience (not sure if the Salon qualifies).

Would be thrilled to hear of any recommendations folks familiar with the restaurant & wine list have for "most sensible" buys. Aka, any options that represent a defensible price due to reduced-markup/quality/rarity considerations.

Asking because I glanced at the wine list and, although I appreciate the stature of Per Se, prices seem to be marked up exorbitantly over retail/secondary market, even for the more expensive options. Of the 20 or so wines I looked up, they are 4-10x over market value. I suppose I was expecting the ~3x typical of many restaurants for < $1k and that reducing to maybe 2x-1.5x as you get into the $1k+/btl area, but perhaps this is my lack of Michelin star experience talking.

Is a wine pairing the move? Or just avoid the $1k+ bottles if that amount of money is considered significant to our wallet? I saw some other folks recommend bringing a bottle even in light of the corkage fee, but that won't be possible for us.

If it matters: we will have a party of 4. I’m a wine geek but the others are less so. Preferably old world (Italy and France are go-to's). About a $1,500 budget for the table, give or take.

TIA!
