Confusing Interaction

Yesterday in my uni library, this random brother came up to me (I think he's brown) and asked if I was brown .I said no and told him I’m Arab. Then he asked what my major is. When I told him, he stood thinking for a few seconds and then just walked away. I am kinda confused on why he did this? I was too embarrassed to ask why honestly.
