Centromere Pattern/Positive ANA

General Questions

Sorry in advance, I am new to all of this and I'm probably trying to learn way too much way too quickly. I (26F) have been struggling with fatigue for most of my adult life. In the last couple of years I have started to experience periodic joint pains and weakness, but it has been mild enough for me to brush off. That being said... I don't remember the last time I have been fully comfortable/without pain.

This winter has been terrible for me. I am in constant agony, specifically in my joints and upper back. My knees swell and get hot, my wrists and fingers swell, my ankles are crackling, even my elbows have started to hurt... I don't want to move or do anything. I am so exhausted all of the time.

My paternal grandmother and older brother have RA and after discussing more of my symptoms i was fairly confident that i too may have Rheumatoid Arthritis.. So i schedule an appointment with my PCP and get some blood work done. All was well except:

ANA Titer 1:1280, Nuclear Centromere.

Also ANA Titer 1:320, Nuclear Speckled

Missed my docs call to go over the results, but in the voicemail he says you can google that, call me back for questions, and has referred me to a Rheumatologist.

Big mistake buddy. LOL. Can't get ahold of him this week and who knows how long it'll be before I see a specialist...

From what I understand (which is not a lot)... Centromere is pretty indicative of Limited Systemic Sclerosis. Now I am a little panicked, but the only symptoms I am aware that I have are GERD and occasional Reynaud's on my toes when I am cold.

I guess my question is, are there any folks out there who have had Centromere pattern but it ended up being RA? I've had a hard time finding information on this.

I felt confident on getting a quick diagnosis due to the family history, but I feel like I got a bit of a curve ball and I am DEFINITELY over thinking and freaking myself out.

Definitely not looking for a diagnosis from anyone, I know I should be patient and see what the Rheumatologist says. Not really sure what I need... a hug? Thanks for coming to my crash out.
