Online order payment

I bought 2 items and meant to use my gift card but I guess it didn’t process and ended up charging my debit instead. I work in retail and normally an issue like this at my store can be resolved by returning the items and repurchasing with a gift card. Any garage employees or anyone who has made this mistake before know if they’ll let me? And if I wanted to wear it and took the tags off would it technically be non refundable even though I mean to repurchase it?
