1 year in- No confidence

Seeking Advice

I’ve been a nurse for about a year. I unfortunately couldn’t land an inpatient job straight out of school due to the job market in my area, so I worked at a primary care clinic for the first year.

I luckily landed a job on an inpatient unit and have been working for about a month. I have absolutely no confidence, I’m constantly second guessing myself and decisions and I’m always anxious.

I don’t feel supported by management or co-workers. When I started working I had some other nurses warn me not to make mistakes. I have also been treated badly by coworkers due to being new. Anytime I ask a question I get the side eye. I’m a nervous wreck all the time. I’m starting to question if nursing is even for me.

I have the knowledge but when it comes down to it I’m always scared. How long will it take to gain confidence? Has anyone else experienced the same thing? Does anyone have advice for me?
