TheHockeyWriters mid-season top 100 prospects list includes 5(!) Flames prospects

97. Hunter Brzustewicz
72. Samuel Honzek
50. Cullen Potter
19. Cole Reschny
2. Zayne Parekh
The rebuild is well and truly underway! I'm very excited about these players. If Parekh figures out how to defend, he has the possibility to be a Norris winner. The world juniors solidified every single opinion I had on the kid, ironically. Unreal on offense, but non-existent on defense. I stopped counting how many two-on-ones he gave up. Its alright though, he changed his play style for the juniors and tying the offense and defense together is just part of the progress.
I'm also very excited about Cole Reschny. I watched him play in Victoria and have followed his career closely since, and his playmaking and vision have been nhl-caliber since he was 17. He'll need a couple years to develop because he's relatively small and would get bullied in the nhl right now, but he has the potential to have huge success in the future.
What do you guys think? Is this a group of young prospects we can build a championship-caliber team around? Obviously the rebuild is still in the beginning stages, but I think we're off to a great start.
