Is Pre-built a deal with ram prices right now?

Build Question

Hello everyone, please read this as if I know absolutely nothing. Because I don't know anything when it comes to the PC market right now besides the RAM insanity.

I've been planning to replace my console and switch to PC gaming. I have basic peripherals, so I'm just looking at the tower/internals at the moment.

I was looking on newegg last night, and it seems like they have some good deals on pre-builts between $1000-$1300.

I still have to do research to see what type of CPU and GPU I need for like 1440p gaming maximum (for the meantime. I'm in training and there's such a large pay bump in my field, that money won't be an issue if I truly want to splurge).

Would it be cheaper to buy one of these pre-built PCs, or cheaper to go about it on my own?
