I feel like I hit a wall with trying to get an IT job

The only thing I got going for me is personal computer experience, and the IT certification from Coursera. I was assured by some people that I know that was all that I needed to get a job in the field. So I tried getting some while working another job. It has been a few years now of on and off applying, and I honestly feel like I wasted my time doing it. I'm honestly thinking about dropping this whole IT thing off entirely and persuring a CDL A licence since I feel like that could get better job security, but Im worried about not being able to be with my friends anymore. So I'm posting this here as a last ditch effort
