Advice please! Solo Asia trip - mix of tours and solo!
Hi Lovely ladies,
I'm looking for any thoughts/ideas on my current plan to travel Asia...
I am British F27 who has travelled solo to Aus and I'm currently in NZ (both on a WHV and a sports visa). I have previously thought about backpacking solo but I’ve now got to the point where I think I'm ready!
I am hoping to do 8/9 months of travel around Asia from ~ Sept- April. Main goals are China, India, Sri Lanka and SEA!
I have found a couple of tours that I quite like which cover some of the more difficult countries for solo female backpackers (and as I'm new to it!). Ideally, I'd move away from them in the long run!
So, my plan would be:
China tour - Mid Sept https://www.gadventures.com/trips/china-cultural-sites-and-epic-cities/9886/#departures-container
Bangkok ~4 days layover (cheapest flight to India)
India to Sri Lanka tour - Oct-Nov.
All in all this section would be ~£4000 and 55days.
The reasons for these specific tours are;
1- I have tried looking at options for 10-day China solo itineraries and the one I have added comes out cheaper (240-hour visa-free for Uk citizens)
2- India- I wouldn't be comfortable travelling solo as a female for my first time.
I would then continue to SEA solo until Mar/April, looking at ~£1000 a month! (and maybe fit another 10 day-er to China)
My budget would be ~£10,000 (leaving an emergency fund)
I'm not really a part go-er, I'm looking more for cultural experiences and activities. I would also like to look at possibly doing work for stays and volunteering whilst in SEA.
Any thoughts and advice on how I go about planning this would be amazing!!
Thanks! 🌏
