Was there any major differences between Dynasty Warriors 2 and 3 (Content, Gameplay etc)? If so, would you expect to see some content from DW2 in the upcoming DW3CER?

Just a question out of curiosity as I never played DW2 or 3 (I actually got into the series through Dynasty Warriors: Gundam of all games, which coincidentally is how I also got into Gundam)

From what I understand, it seems DW3 is more or less an improved version of DW2 in almost every aspect (please correct me if I'm wrong), even the soundtrack of 3 is mostly updated versions of DW2's soundtrack.

iirc there may be some moveset changes in some characters but other than that is there anything substantial that was left behind in DW2 that *could* appear in DW3CER?
