Question: 401k loan to get a medical alert service dog?

Hi all- I’m looking into getting a service dog to help manage my diabetes. My insurance won’t cover the cost of the dog. I’m looking at chucking $35,000 for the service dog. Otherwise I’m looking at a long wait period, if I even qualify, for a service dog (at low to no cost).

I currently have $74,810 in my 401k and am considering getting a 401k loan which my repayments would be $330/biweekly for 60 months.

What are your thoughts?
