Alderanian Doggo Union Calls for General Strike, Plans Talks with Labor Leaders
The Alderanian Doggo Union (ADU) formally announced today its intention to initiate a system wide general strike, citing long standing grievances over working conditions, equality standards, and recognition of collective bargaining rights across key civilian and service sectors.
In a statement released from its provisional council, the ADU declared that the strike call is intended as both a warning and a mobilization tool, aimed at pressuring employers and planetary authorities to enter meaningful negotiations. Union officials emphasized that the action is not yet bound to a fixed start date, leaving room for dialogue before work stoppages begin.
As part of this effort, the Alderanian Doggo Union confirmed it will convene a summit with major labor union leaders from across The Alderaan system in the coming days. The meeting is expected to focus on coordination, mutual support mechanisms, and the possibility of synchronized labor actions should negotiations fail.
Labor analysts note that a unified front between the ADU and broader labor organizations could significantly disrupt logistics, public services, and light manufacturing throughout the region. Government and corporate representatives have not yet issued formal responses, though several sources indicate quiet outreach efforts are already underway.
Although the ADU announces it will be willing to speak to the government.
Union leaders reiterated that their preference remains a negotiated settlement, but warned that without concrete commitments, the general strike will proceed “with full solidarity and discipline.”
Further developments are expected following the conclusion of the upcoming labor summit.
