Is Puddleglum supposed to be Indigenous coded (Native American/First Nations in particular) or am I just reading too much into it as an ignorant white fan?

Discussion

Like, he's mentioned to live in a wigwam (which looks more like a tipi, but that was a common confusion among non-Native people at the time Lewis was writing). So I'm not sure if he's supposed to be Fantasy Native (like the Na'vi in Avatar or Atreyu's people in The Neverending Story), in which case his dourness and heavy drinking would come off as rather stereotypical; or if "wigwam" just went well with "Marsh-wiggle" in Lewis's ears, in which case the dourness and drinking would be more in like with British stereotypes (Lewis did base the guy on his gardener, after all).
