a very intuitive guide to zero your scope
method 1
let's say you would like to unalive this VIP right there. no information, no map, no marker
first, you locate a surface around the same distant as the target
this should work. now take a shot
we shot an under zeroing at 100. now try at 200
still a little bit under, repeat the same step until it landed where you aimed at
like this shot at 300 or 350 I simply forgot, and the actual distance is?
264, it's 264 we should be shooting over the target BUT the distance in my example is not significant enough for this to be a problem. so....
method 2
for this method you will need a good memory and time to do some trial and error.
the scope we have been using so far is PMII/LP (P5FL)
we are trying to hit that guy over there, single shot, no information, just your gun and your mind working in harmony.
this guy is conveniently in the range that his head's cross section as that longer line on your reticle side to side. how convenient. man, only if we know how far away a person has to be to have their head's cross section width the same as that line on the reticle.... oh wait
welcome to my almost a kilometer long shooting range with paper targets that actually is 2 almost half a kilometer long shooting range with paper targets that I haphazardly stick together. is that too long? did anyone actually read all that?
aha
purrfect
and the number is
which if we compare to the actual target
off by 4 meter, basically insignificant.
another one down let's go to my favourite
if you can't see the target that is absolutely fine, the target is
there.
if you would kindly look around the target you can see that there is a L shaped building just behind it. this is called looking at the surrounding, people under 15 seem to lack this skill, if you are one of them, just use the first two.
mark it where you think the target is assuming down on the map
now look at the big picture
can you see it? can you see it? CAN YOU SEE IT? let me make it clearer for you
it's a right angle triangle. wow. now if you stay in school because it make you better at pvp like alexander the great the second had said, you would know how to find the length of side C using the Pythagorean theorem or a^(2) + b^(2) = c^(2) each medium square (shown in the picture) is 100 meter and 10 for small (not shown, I'm lazy so just eyeball it)
a is roughly 0.8 and b is 4.7 put that into formular and we get 0.8^(2) + 4.7^(2) = c^(2) or in this case, 4.77
and now if you measure the actual distance you will get
519? what did we do wrong? it is acceptable but what's happening here?
what is happening here is I leave out 1 thing, the third dimension, if you are single male who watched too many anime already and will continue watching more slowly losing the depth perception then you don't have to force yourself to go further.
it actually look a bit more like
we already got the b side earlier which is 4.77 now you just have to find a in order to figure out c. I would a = √c^(2)-b^(2) or height = √distance from your position including elevation to teammate at base^(2) - distance from your position excluding elevation to teammate at base^(2) which I'm not gonna do because I hit the image limit. or just remember the elevation of each peak this one happens to be roughly 230 meters from sea level.
at this point you might as well get the height of the building but as I said, I hit the limit so our calculation will be a bit off but it doesn't matter that much.
so we get 2.3^(2) + 4.77^(2) =5.29556^(2) which is just 10 meter off presumably from the estimation of the position and that building height we didn't deduct earlier. and now to not learn all this you can pay 100 dollars everytime you spawn. if you could just eyeball it and get within 75 meter you don't have to read all these. just eyeball it or go blazin, who care.
