Sponsorship common law application and OWP

Hello, everyone!

i have a question

My open work visa expires in 7 days. i am applying for PR through my common law spouse. We are plan to submit the application on Monday. I read on the government website that I can apply for a new OWP through my spouse without AOR if my current one expires in less than two weeks and I have already submitted a sponsorship application. Is this true?
