Looking for real world book promotion ideas not AI generated marketing advice
I’m about to release the final book in a three part series and I’m intentionally avoiding generic AI marketing tactics and paid ads for now. The books deal with real world themes like community violence political power grassroots movements and media manipulation so forced promo feels wrong for the audience I want to reach.
I’m looking for grounded content marketing ideas that actually worked for you in the real world. Things you’ve done or seen done that built interest organically. Especially long form or slow burn strategies.
Examples of what I’m curious about
Content that didn’t feel like promotion
Ways to build conversation before dropping links
Using social or cultural commentary as entry points
What actually worked outside of theory
If you’ve promoted a book documentary series or idea driven project without relying on hype funnels or ad spend I’d really like to hear what moved the needle for you and what didn’t.
Not looking for templates or AI tools. Looking for lived experience.
