In dilemma for applying to postdocs

Job market

Hi, I'm a 4th year PhD student from India. I wish to do my postdoc from abroad and have narrowed down a list of prospective supervisors.

I have yet not published a paper. However, it is under 4th round of review (minor revision) right now at a Q1 journal in my domain and I hope for acceptance. Consequent to my 1st publication, I have 2 manuscripts in pipeline. I might be submitting next year. Should I start emailing professors from this moment?

Also, one of the professors is the editor of the journal I've submitted to. Should I avoid approaching him for now?

My supervisor is using postdoc at his lab as a bargain to complete my phd sooner. I don't want to stay at this place anymore. He's not from my domain as well (complicated situation). If he doesn't provide me with an LoR will that be a problem?

Apologies if my questions sound naive. I hope for great advice from this community
