Rude player at an open play
As of today I have joined 2 sessions of open play of about more or less 30 people. And I noticed that there is a person who seems rude or snobby to a beginner like me.
I thought at first that this certain guy was rude to everyone but upon talking to my friends who were with me, I noticed that the guy was only rude to me but very friendly to my friends who are better than me. They too were new to pickleball but already tennis players.
A super majority of players are kind and welcoming. We introduce ourselves at the start and they are tolerant to my beginner mistakes. However this “rude guy” many times straight up ignores me when I communicate. Soon thereafter one of my friend, who he is kind to, told me that the “rude guy” said players should not do this or that because it “ruins his momentum”. My friends and I suspected he was making indirect remarks about me thru my friend - because I was the one making those mistakes.
I still appreciate the pickleball community being very friendly but this experience bothered me. I felt bad missing my shots and making bad decisions (which i often do). Anyone else with a similar experience?
For context: this open play is open to beginners
