Trouble shooting r2modman

Im trying to run r2modman using crossover to use mods for Lethal Company, however, only older versions of r2modman will work and the program updates automatically to the new version every time it closes. Does anyone who has experience with r2modman and crossover know of any work arounds? Or does anyone have any other suggestions for modding lethal? Thank you!
