Help with editing?

I’m about 50 pages into my book, I just need to know one thing before I continue, should I start editing every chapter after I write them or wait till the very end to edit everything (grammar and wording). What do you guys usually do? This is my first book I’ve ever gotten this far with so hadn’t really thought of this before since I was just doing it for myself before knowing I was just going to write a few pages no one was ever going to see but now that I’m ready to actually start self publishing (on Amazon nothing crazy) it occurred to me I reallllyyy needed to start editing. I have a friend helping with basic grammar mistakes since they correct our grammar on the daily lol, but things like descriptions and adding more personality and wording is definitely something I have to edit myself, especially since this book is written in first person.

So do you guys finish the book and then edit or edit as you go?
