Has Peterborough gotten any better since mid 2000s?

Opinion

I had a friend that lived there around 2008 for a few years.

I'd visit her and always be surprised by how..... Unfortunate? People were. Maybe it was just the area she lived. It was near st Mary's street.

It was a lot of guys thinking they were the next Eminem, lots of weed heads and people that didn't seem to have ambition in life.

Have things changed there? I know you get this everywhere you go, but it seemed to be really highlighted in Peterborough.

Is it more multicultural now? Is it still mostly white conservative racists?

I no longer live in ontario but my bf and I are talking about moving. He brought yo Ontario and while I don't want to move to the province itself, I've been eyeing east of Durham region, just in case.
