Blaming voters is stupid

Topic Discussion

There has been 47 Presidents, only 45 men in American history. In US history there has been about 100 ish electable men and women, over a period of 250 years. And with 2 options, every FOUR YEARS, to decide on basically the direction of the country, of course the options will be absolutely impossible to satisfy anyone. Add corruption and all the things we know politics is, and it’s a miracle that we even get people every 4 years to begin with.

I say all that to say, that it is ridiculous to say that “all Trump voters are guilty/responsible for Trump 2.0s behavior” which is just absurd. Firstly, a vote for president is a vote for a presidential candidate, not a sweeping endorsement of 100% of their policies. Secondly, candidates are free will human beings, it’s impossible for us, literal strangers across 50 states and the world, to know them beyond what they present and what is said abt them. We can’t know what they’ll be like in a crisis or a hot girl next to them etc etc, there’s so many positions a president is in that a voter just couldn’t account for. Thirdly, people that vote for president still criticize them, and as they should.

I a Trump voter reserve the right to critique the person I voted for. If not, you’re saying 49 state majorities are responsible and guilty for Watergate, the country was stupid and should’ve known Carter would’ve been weak, that Reagan had shadow gov operators, that Bill Clinton would have Monika’s cookie… I mean come on. It’s absurd.

Nobody has been more upset this administration than Jeepdriver27, he has completely failed in everything I wanted from him and I can and should admit that. I have been fair in grading Trump in my opinion, and I also think like every presidential vote cast in US history, mine had a lot of intelligence and good intention behind it. I would never label Biden voters, the everyday men and women trying to make it in the world, of being failures, because the cynical politician they elected was more cynical than previously expected. That’s not fair to them, it’s bad citizenship, and I think that it’s actually reductive. If you can’t accept Trump voters back into your side for example, you force them to become a minority opposed to you. Same is true of the opposite side, I don’t think Biden voters are stupid at all, they have different thoughts on the presidency.

TLDR: You can never blame the voter for their presidential vote if the candidate appealed to what they wanted.
