do you ever get over feeling awkward? how?

Questions/Advice

6’1, 22 year old woman.

i know i am not as tall as a lot of people in this sub, but please, hear me out.

i have been tall my entire life. i am shorter than my dad (6’2) and brother (6’3) but shot past my mother and sister in height very early.

i was the tallest girl in my entire school, was always next to the boys in school photos, and my two best friends were (and still are) an entire foot shorter than me. everyone at my job is shorter than me. there is not a singular woman in my life who is taller than me. i am also thin and lanky with an impressive wingspan and less than impressive posture (the latter caused solely by wanting to appear smaller). i feel although this doesn’t help my case in not feeling and looking awkward.

do you ever get over the feeling of sticking out like a sore thumb? do you ever get over the feeling of “i am but a giant individual amongst the dainty and petite majority”? how do i reach the stage where group gatherings and photos don’t make me feel disgusting? i feel confident in my height until i stand next to other women - i then shortly proceed to wanting to shrink and/or cry. i am going to be a bridesmaid soon where all of the other women are under 5’9. i would like to feel pretty and confident on the day, knowing my photo is going to be taken both candidly and posed. i am a deeply insecure person at the best of times and have been struggling with this in particular lately.

please throw any advice you have my way :) thank you
