did i get scammed by a random or by a real riot employee or should i just wait longer?

i got qued with a riot dev yesterday and was excited that i could maybe get a gun buddy. i didn’t want to trouble him so i didn’t ask for it. when the score was about 16-17 he said if i clutch the 1v3 he’ll give me a riot buddy i was really happy and clutched the round (we still lost 17-19). i added him after the game but he didn’t accept my request yet. i saw my inventory but didn’t get the buddy. should i have to wait for a longer time for the buddy to appear in my inventory? can anyone tell me if i’m gonna get it or not i don’t like to have hopes of getting something and then not getting it
